Beginner — Day 4 — My Family

After class, Anna asks Nok about her family.

Anna: 'Tell me about your family, Nok.'
Nok: 'I've got a big family! I've got one brother and one sister. I haven't got any pets.'
Anna: 'What about your parents?'
Nok: 'My mother's name is Malee. My father's name is Somchai. They are both teachers, like you!'
Anna: 'That's wonderful. This is my family.' She shows a photo. 'I've got one sister. I haven't got a brother.'
Nok: 'Your sister's house is beautiful!'

In this conversation, Nok and Anna use 'have got' to say what they have, and possessive 's to show who something belongs to — like 'Nok's family' or 'my mother's name'. Try describing your own family the same way!
