Grammar LV2 — Day 1 — Present Perfect Continuous
Compare these two: 'I have studied English.' (present perfect — focuses on the completed result) and 'I have been studying English for two hours.' (present perfect continuous — focuses on the ongoing activity and how long it's been happening). The second form is what you reach for when duration matters: something started in the past and is still true or still happening now.
The form is: have/has + been + verb-ing. It pairs naturally with 'for' (a length of time: for two hours, for three years) and 'since' (a starting point: since 2020, since Monday).
